Sandy Kemper named among the "100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs" at the 2020 Builders + Innovators Summit.
Kansas City, USA (October 14, 2020) — Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) is recognizing C2FO Founder and CEO Alexander “Sandy” Kemper as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2020 at its Builders + Innovators Summit.
Goldman Sachs selected Kemper as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the two-day event.
Kemper formed C2FO with a vision of creating the world’s first market for working capital by seamlessly matching accounts payable and accounts receivable on a single platform. Since its first transaction in 2010, C2FO has surpassed $110 billion in accelerated invoice payments for companies worldwide. C2FO’s platform today serves more than one million businesses representing $10.5 trillion in annual sales.
During the pandemic, C2FO has intensified its efforts to help small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), which have been most vulnerable to the economic turmoil. In April, Kemper wrote an open letter to governments and world banks that called for the formation of the Small Business Supplier Protection Plan, creating low-cost funding for large companies to pay their SMB suppliers immediately.
“Being named among the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2020 is an honor, but it also speaks to the important work C2FO performs every day to provide companies worldwide with the capital needed to grow,” Kemper said. “Accelerated payment of receivables is essential for all businesses, but especially for those that may be underrepresented and underfunded by the world’s financial systems.”
Prior to starting C2FO, Kemper founded and led Perfect Commerce (originally known as eScout). He previously served as chairman and CEO of UMB Bank, and CEO of UMB Financial.
“True innovation is built from a diversity of perspectives and experiences,” said David M. Solomon, chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs. “Our Builders + Innovators Summit brings together a collective of impressive future leaders who are striving to drive meaningful change. For over 150 years, Goldman Sachs has supported entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their businesses. That’s why we are pleased to recognize Sandy Kemper as one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2020.”
In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the summit, which this year will take place virtually, consists of general sessions and clinics led by seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
